Accessibility Guide for InterPride's Annual General Meeting & World Conference in San Diego

Hotel entrance The Westin, San Diego gaslamp quarter. Location of 2023 global Interpride Meeting

InterPride's General Meeting & World Conference (InterPride GM&WC), hosted by San Diego Pride, is October 25-29, 2023.  Hundreds of US & and International Pride event producers and leaders will convene for a four-day conference in beautiful downtown San Diego this year.  Friendly Like Me is proud to offer our research into accessible San Diego businesses in and around the conference.

Linda Glevy is the Accessibility Coordinator for this year's InterPride GM&WC, and has worked hard to make the event accessible for all: "Accessibility is important because we need everyone in our community involved in our work and in our joy," she said. "When we deliberately include everyone, we ensure that all voices are heard and that our work benefits all of the LGBTQ+ community."

Accessibility features of this year's conference include:

  • InterPride GM&WC, hosted at the Westin San Diego Gaslamp, is accessible to all mobility devices.
  • Accessible restrooms, parking spaces, and transportation are available.
  • InterPride GM&WC will have a Sensory Break Area for anyone who would like a calming space to take a break.
  • Fidget toys and ear plugs will be available at this event.
  • Simultaneous Interpretation for Spanish, French, Portuguese, and American Sign Language (ASL) will be provided at Plenary sessions.
  • Interpretation services for Spanish, French, Portuguese, and American Sign Language (ASL) for workshops and caucuses can be requested.
  • Service animals are permitted at the conference, with attendees responsible for making arrangements for their service animals at their hotel accommodations and for caring for their service animals.
  • Further details and FAQ's on Transportation, COVID and Food Information are located  here.

Available below is Friendly Like Me's signature research to identify accessible local businesses in and around the conference, as well as businesses in San Diego's famed LGBTQ+ hotspot Hillcrest.
